جزییات کتاب
While this study does not neglect the factors which shaped the development of Ukrainian nationalism prior to World War I, it is organized primarily in terms of the various governments, political parties, and personalities which reflected the ideals and weaknesses of the national movement during what was the most significant period of modern Ukrainian history.
Mr. Reshetar traces the complex relations between the Ukrainian governments and the ruthless Bolshevik regime in Moscow. The alternative to Soviet rule succeeded in holding its ground temporarily, but was gradually submerged as the Communists gained control of the second most numerous people in the Soviet Union.
"A truly pioneer work. Throws a clear light on one of the most complicated problems of the evolution of modern Russia and the Soviet Union. It is impossible for the intelligent public to understand the complexities of Russian development without knowing the essence of the Ukrainian problem." - Philip E. Mosely.
Mt. Reshetar is a lecturer in politics at Princeton University.
