Numerous audio systems are nonlinear. It is thus of a great importance to study them
and understand how they work. Volterra series model and its subclass (cascade Hammerstein
model) are usual ways to model nonlinear systems. In this paper we first describe some diffi-
culties that are encountered during the implementation of these identification methods. Solu-
tions are proposed to solve each of these problems, some are originals, others are inspired by
the literature. The different corrections provided in this paper lead to the Hammerstein Ker-
nels Identifications by Sine Sweep (HKISS) method. To evaluate its efficiency, we emulate a
distortion guitar effect and two tubes guitar amplifiers.
