A fine translation by Ștefan Rusu (who I know first hand, since I am him) of one of the finest works of the late scholar Alexis Philonenko, a reputed researcher in modern philosophy. "Kant's Theory of History", first edition 1986 as "La Théorie kantienne de l'histoire", takes a comprehensive look at a less known part of Kant's corpus, that is, the parts concerning history and anthropology, a vast work spanning his lifetime. One can find here Kant's interests in race, war, the a priori of history and other specific Kantian (and Enlightenment) topics. Philonenko's book is a very good synthesis of one of modern philosophy's secondary, although vast, areas of interest - and which will become prevalent in the years to come.
