The yin yoga postures are gentle positions on the floor that are held for longer periods of time (between 2 and 5 minutes) so that the deeper layers of connective tissue, the fasciae, are addressed and immediately after dissolving the posture create a strong feeling of well-being - pure body regeneration and relaxation in one.
Typical aids are pillows, cushions or rolled up blankets, which can use fewer joints to experience an optimal stretching stimulus and gradually increase mobility and relaxation. There are three different programmes in the book: for more strength and energy, for detoxification and for deep relaxation.
