Sure, we all know that exercise is not just about looking good in our bathing-suit. Yet, that’s the biggest reason most of us do it. It’s good to remind ourselves though that exercise is a very powerful tool that has more to offer than just superficial benefits.
I have to be honest with you and tell you that I wrote this book with a hidden agenda behind it. By motivating you to get in shape for the summer (or whatever special event you want to look good for) – my goal is to trick you into making exercise part of your routine whole-year round. By the end of this book, not only will you be in better shape for the beach… You’ll be also ready to adopt exercise as part of your lifestyle even after summer is over.
So, I challenge you to practice everything you learn in this book for twenty days. Twenty days is the average time it takes for new habits to start building solid roots in one’s weekly routine. Think about it, you just have to invest less than three weeks in return for a lifetime of being fit, strong and healthy.
Here are some of the major scientifically proven benefits of exercise that you should always keep in mind:
- It’s one the best investments you can make for your physical health.
- It’s also one of the best investments for your wallet. Think of how much money you save from future medical treatments you can potential avoid if you stay healthy most of your life.
- It’s been proven to be one of the strongest tools for improving your mood (shown to be even more powerful than antidepressant drugs in studies).
- It increases positive character traits such as self-confidence
- It can create a domino effect of positive change in the rest of your life’s areas
That last one is my favourite to see in people. As state above, people who start working out habitually also experience widespread positive changes in their lives. There are studies showing that people who exercise start adopting better nutritional habits. They become more productive at work. They smoke less and improve their relationship with their family. They feel less stressed and they use their credit cards less frequently
Still, looking good without a shirt is a motive that drives us all (to some extent at least). So I say, why not use that drive! Why not only get in shape temporarily – but once you build that momentum, why not maintain it whole year round. Once you get started with training on a frequent basis – you’ve gone through the most difficult part (getting started!). Most people don’t know though that that’s the most difficult part so they quit right after achieving their goal (if they make it that far).
Once you realise that building that initial momentum is the most difficult part… once you understand how to do that through more efficient and less mentally depleting methods (like the tips and tricks you’ll learn in this book)… and once you understand that all it takes is some strategy and understanding how your mind works when it comes to habit-forming in order for you to maintain that momentum in the long run… making exercise part of your weekly lifestyle becomes so much easier and worthwhile!
