جزییات کتاب
Based on the Feldenkrais Method® of movement education, BACK INTO ACTION lessons are structured to develop kinesthetic aptitude, improve coordination, and alter ingrained movement habits. Each lesson facilitates the re-learning of the fundamental coordination patterns most often interfered with by back injury and pain.
Each of the lessons is founded on the coordination patterns that underlie standard rehab exercises. Each lesson is consists of small sequential steps, each of which can be done in and safely. This allows each student a chance to figure out how to do these movements—and therefore their exercises—correctly and comfortably, often for the first time. There are many opportunities to clearly and simply explore the movement logic behind each exercise—why it is beneficial, how it relates to basic functions of the spine, and so on—in ways that help each student realize his or her movement potential.
Our motto is: “No pain, more gain.”
BACK INTO ACTION offers students the means for making lasting changes, while helping them to enjoy the process of learning and changing.
Background
Composed of a series of innovative Feldenkrais movement lessons, BACK INTO ACTION originated as a treatment component for chronic back pain patients in a comprehensive orthopedic rehabilitation. This program was designed particularly for people who did not respond to standard exercises and treatment modalities. Most of these patients either performed home exercise with increased pain and discomfort, or they simply didn’t follow through on their home program. Even among those patients who regularly did exercise, few did them in such a way to receive the potential benefit.
Equally important, many people with chronic movement limitations found it difficult to incorporate new ways of moving into everyday activities. No matter how much time they spent in “back school,” the gym, and supervised exercise classes, a large percentage of the patients could not integrate what they learned into their daily lives.
Course Design
The BACK INTO ACTION program presents twelve lessons based on the Feldenkrais Method of movement education. In each lesson you will explore movement possibilies that help you discover easier, safer ways of moving.
