SEs should take a comprehensive viewpoint across technical and nontechnical aspects of the problem space and use systems thinking to ask probing questions and trace the implications of potential answers across the enterprise. SEs work with ambiguous issues and partial information to frame the essence of the problem, to create strategies that consider all aspects of the problems and needs of the sponsor and beyond, and to engineer scalable, adaptable, and evolvable enterprise solutions that consider the larger stakeholder community.
