A description of typical dialects of French in Canada, like those of Quebec, Ontario and parts of Manitoba. More divergent dialects such as the Acadian French of New Brunswick are not covered. The book starts with a description of international, standard French phonology. The approach afterwards is to mention allophones used in Canadian French depending on the phonological environment or morphophonology.
Beware: as of 2020, some common Linux PDF readers like Okular and Evince are unable to handle something strange about its format, and won't show non-English letters correctly. This makes the book unreadable due to the high use of IPA letters. However, some can, such as XPDF, good old GNU GV, and the PDF reader that comes inside Firefox version 73.
