جزییات کتاب
countries in Asia describe their individual passages into feminist consciousness
and their work in women's studies. The stories are diverse, ranging from
Fareeha Zafar's efforts to establish a trade union in Pakistan, to Liang Jun who,
at 40, was inspired by a lecture to go on a "mission" to raise women's consciousness
in China, and to Thanh-Dam Truong from Vietnam, whose activism
began with the student protests at Ohio University in the 1960s. Interweaving
the personal with the political, each woman's odyssey links women's studies to
social change in Asia.
