In 2008, Barack Obama made a promise to have the 'most transparent administration' of any U.S. president; it was the very cornerstone of his campaign. No secrets. No masks. No smoke and mirrors. No excuses. But over the next four years, President Obama's administration would prove to be one of the most guarded and duplicitous of our time.
Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch, America's largest nonpartisan government watchdog (challenging George W. Bush as well as Bill Clinton), has been investigating Obama ever since he splashed onto the national scene in 2006. Now Fitton exposes devastating secrets the Obama administration has desperately fought, even in court, to block disclosure.
When it comes to Obama corruption, it may not get any bigger than Solyndra. Solyndra was once known as the
poster child for the Obama administration’s massive “green energy” initiative, but it has become the poster child for the corruption that ensues when the government meddles in the private sector. Solyndra filed for bankruptcy in September 2011, leaving 1,100 workers without jobs and the American taxpayers on the hook for $535 million, thanks to an Obama administration stimulus loan guarantee. Whether it’s the Chicago way, the Solyndra scandal, his continued funding of the newly rebranded ACORN, his attempts to hide the Secret Service White House visitors logs, his attempts to stack the National Labor Relations Board illegally, or his attempt to use that same board to shut down private industry, this is a politician with serious abuse of power issues. And all of those problems occurred in 2011. President Obama remains the supreme example of what can happen after two decades of escalating unaccountability at the very highest levels of government.
