جزییات کتاب
This volume, the fourth in a series of five volumes in honor of M. N. Srinivas, deals with issues related to development and ethnicity. The distinguished contributors analyze a number of important problems facing contemporary Indian society. These include changes in patterns of land ownership, the impact of development efforts on fragile ecosystems, the politics of development organizations, and the methodological problems involved in studying economic development and social change. Of particular note are the essays on ethnicity that discuss the theoretical underpinnings of emerging ethnic movements and conflicts in South Asia and Southeast Asia. This book will be of interest to students of sociology, social anthropology, social change, culture and ethnicity, development studies, and South Asian studies.
