It proffers a sampling of philosophical achievements of four centuries ushered by the centuries of religious wars and their settlements (in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries) and their titanic impact on the rise of the national states and their absolute sovereigns who fought wars endlessly to define borders and powers for great and small states in Continental Europe and its environs. The result of multiple vicissitudes bred the Age of Enlightenment and its grounds for revolution and social transformation, which were embodied in world revolution that manifested itself in the French Revolution and put an end to feudalism and prepared Europe for the conquest of the world.
