This is an introduction to concurrent programming in which several activities are processing in parallel. It is a UNIX based case study of operating system structures. TUNIS is an implementation of the UNIX kernel and is presented as an example of a Large concurrent program. It includes an overview of consurrent programming and OS, the CE, Concurrent Euclid, language, the structure of Euclid, and a chapter on implementing a small kernel to support concurrent processes.It concludes with an Appendix which provides a detailed Specification of the Euclid Concurrent Language (252 pages long). There is also a subject index as well as references at the ends of the chapters.
