جزییات کتاب
Modern gas turbine power plants represent one of the highest efficiency and most economic conventional power generation technologies suitable for large-scale and smaller-scale applications. Alongside this, gas turbine systems operate with lower emissions and are also more flexible in their operation than other large-scale fossil-fuel powered generation units such as coal plants. Developments in the field look to improve on this performance further still, aiming at higher efficiency generation, lower emission systems (including CO2 emissions) and more fuel-flexible operation (e.g. to utilize lower-grade gases, liquid fuels, and gasified solid fuels/biomass). This book provides a comprehensive review of the field of gas turbine science and engineering, from materials use and design issues, on to improved operational practices and future developments. Coverage extends from large-scale power generation to industrial and small scale gas turbine applications. The editor and contributors explore the subject of gas turbine science and engineering. Topics include large-scale power generation, industrial and small-scale gas turbine applications and operational and maintenance issues, including performance monitoring and control, modelling and optimization techniques. Finally, chapters review advanced operating conditions and concepts, including the pursuit of near-zero emissions power plants incorporating carbon dioxide capture technology.
