جزییات کتاب
This book contains papers presented at the Eighth International Conference on Modelling in Medicine and Biology, which was held on the island of Crete, May 26-28, 2009. Projections for advances in medical and biological technology will transform medical care and treatment. This is due in great part to the interaction and collaborations between the medical sciences and engineering. These advances will result in substantial progressions in health care and in the quality of life of the population. Computer models in particular have been increasingly successful in simulation biological phenomena. These are lending support to many applications, including amongst others cardiovascular systems, the study of orthopaedics and biomechanics, and electrical simulation. Another important contribution, due to the wide availability of computational facilities and the development of better numerical algorithms, is the ability to acquire analyses, manage and visualize massive amounts of data. Contents are organized into the following chapters: Cardiovascular system; Computational fluid dynamics; Biomechanics; Physiological processes; Data acquisition and analysis; Virtual reality in medicine.
