Principles of Addiction Medicine. Our goal, as with previous editions of Principles, is to provide a reference text that reflects the state of the art in the science and practice of addiction medicine. Richard Ries, MD, has worked on all of the previous editions of Principles and brings special expertise in co-occurring psychiatric disorders and knowledge of how addiction treatment services function in community settings.With this new edition of Principles of Addiction Medicine, ASAM continues its publishing partnership with Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW).
